Below freezing, black ice, slippery conditions on Dry Creek Rd
Another vehicle goes off the road. It is soooo common...
Very dangerous bit of road...
I pass the accident scene while I'm on my way to work... prior to the emergency vehicles arriving... There were other people stopped and they waved me on....
Police, Ambulance and Fire Brigade passed me as I continued along...
I stopped and took some pics of where it occurred on my way home
This is the CHP LOG:
Incident: 0459 Type: Traffic Collision - Ambulance Responding Location: DRY CREEK RD AT ORCHARD AV Zoom Map: 428 7J info as of: 12/14/2007 8:19:37 AM
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
7:42AM 1039 BLACKHAWK TOW
7:31AM OTURNED WHITE CHEV TRUCK- PARTY TRAPPED OVER THE EDGE OF THE ROAD
RESPONDING OFFICERS STATUS
7:33AM CHP Unit Enroute
I drive this road EVERYDAY and I see so many accidents...
I tow my boats along this road on weekends... (including the 24' Skipjack) Needless to stay I drive very slowly and very cautiously...
p.s.
A few weeks ago my wife June and I came within inches of a head-on collision on Dry Creek Rd (she was driving her Mazda Miata) when a BMW with young kids in it fish tailed back and forth around a corner, came at us on our side of the road and then ran up a rock wall embankment. There wasn't room to walk between the two cars when we both stopped... Their car pratically ended up on it's side, I had to help them out of the window...

- Windscreen iced over, garden hose frozen, driving slowly and waiting for heater/defroster to kick in. Turn the washers on and it turns to ice again...

Below Freezing
We measure temperature in Farenheit.barra_on_fly wrote:What does "below freezing" mean?
As you probably know 32 degrees (F) is the freezing point of water... 'Below freezing' is when the temperature is lower than the freezing point...
It's been in the twenties around our house lately... Last week it tried to rain but little chips of ice came down instead... It didn't hail, it didn't rainl... the ground was completely dry but my black truck and our decks had little odd shaped chips of ice on it
To see how cold it has been here lately, check out the pic of my Mercury Outboard (on the weekend) in the Napa River Forum...

Re: Below Freezing
It gets below 15 degrees Celcius here. Sometimes. At night....fishmaster wrote:We measure temperature in Farenheit.barra_on_fly wrote:What does "below freezing" mean?
