Fast Forward: Skipjack 24' Project Boat Update

Post by Bob Fisher » Tue Oct 06, 2009 4:54 am

Some before and after pics of the Skipjack 24' project boat.

A couple of years, an understanding wife, some good friends and a lot of elbow grease.

Looks good now but I don't think I would do it again...

Looking Good

Looking Good Bob - I bet a lot of man hours went into that to bring her back up to scratch.

Did you have to do much to the engine and leg as well?

While you been busy on that - the site kinda died, all cept for the funeral.

Still a worthwhile sacrifice to get the boat back into trim.

So - you gonna take up fishing now?

Cheers

bobs boat

Post by rusty » Thu Oct 08, 2009 12:07 am

The boat sure looks the part bob, it would make a good boat for up at exmouth like the old days aye, i have now not been out in the big boat for 5 mths, the fishing club has now cancelled a record five venues due to large swells and strong winds, most beaches east and west of town are severeley eroded away due to the size of the swells, they have averaged 3-4 m +
even out at the lake has dropped off due to the water temperature being so cold, we went out all the familly last weekend and only managed a dozen or so and they were all released as they are spawning.
iI hope to post this weekend as i am batching and have scanned a lot of old pics from yesteryear.
I live with fear sometimes she lets me go fishing!!!!!!!!

Captain Bob,

Those are some great pics. She's looking good and sits great in the water. I hope you get out there and do some fishing on it. Life is too short to not go fishing!!! Miss the good ole times fixing boats and fishing with you.

Todd and I went to the Salmon River in Pulaski NY last weekend and hooked into a bunch of big salmon. I'll have to get a couple of pics over to you soon.

Tim

Timmy,

there's always a spot on the boat for you, anytime...

after all that is YOU in the first pic (standing next to the boat)
on DAY ONE!
